The monotony of each passing day seems to ironically bring different surprises. You're either going to be greeted by pleasant surprises or rude shocks. No matter what, we've got to take it in our stride and either accept the blessings with open arms and ride out the crisis like a surfer dude would. Life is only as bad as you determine it to be. Make the best out of it while you still have the power to do so.

Help!
Blast the sodding earthquake that hit Sumatra 3 days ago. It was the largest earthquake of such magnitute in 40 years and boy did it come with a huge impact. It was an underwater quake and the problem with such quakes is that all the crustal plate movement under the sea will cause the formation of the surging of waves that will eventually for tidal waves which will increase in size and speed as it travels coastwards from the epi-centre of the earthquake.

Very little damage was done from that initial earthquake, but the tidal waves that formed there after has left a devastating trail of destruction in it's wake. And mind you, the worst has yet to come still. As of now, a total of 55 000 people are feared dead in 10 countries after the tidal waves swept the coasts of Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand and even Somalia!

The death toll is expected to rise as dieases, illness, injuries and starvation takes it toll on the survivors. Is there enough help out there? Can more be done to save those that are still lost after being swept away by the waves?

We're terribly lucky that our tiny island is being shielded from this major catastrophe by our unfortunate neighbours who are no desperately trying to save whatever they can. Imagine the day when we're hit by some major natural disaster, how will we cope and will be make it through? I'm not very optimistic bout our chances of surviving an attack by a tidal wave. we'll probably have half the island submerged by water, and I can imagine people being swept away, being crashed into buildings and eventually being drowned by the tidal waves.

It sure is a scary thought. That said, should we at least be taking a moment to hope for the people who are in need this very moment?

Whoever you may be, I hope that help comes to you soon. And I hope it'll not be too late.
